Time to retire the Defender from DD duties, because Operation Sensible Family Estate Car is complete! Pulled the trigger on a fully loaded 2005 Legacy R spec- B, complete with useless Prodrive stickers and electronically adjustable Tein coilovers .

It’s not perfect, but it’s an honest car with full service hi story, good bodywork and interior - and more importantly a very healthy flat 6 attached to a 6 speed manual. Happy.

Agreed. I think I like the facelift more, but I used to have one of these in 2.0NA form, and it was like climbing back into an old friend :)

I have thanks! I’ve been on holiday but back now, got a used 4.6 block for the Disco that I’ve since stripped and am now in the process of cleaning then rebuilding. New bearings, lifters, piston rings. The lot!

es sir, also got the 109 3 door fitted with a 300Tdi and R380 box. No shifting of the radiator needed.

Just had to get a little creative with a stumpy bell housing and a few choice cuts on the chassis cross members.
